If equity markets in the developed world occupy a tertiary position for investment purposes then what happens to equity markets in the developing world?

Given the uncertainties globally, lack of clarity from the US and other countries, the sinking of Japan and Europe expect US and other markets to take out all the recent lows in the next couple of weeks.
